Neuro-

immunology

Who we are and what we do

Our research unit is dedicated to neuroimmunology with a strong focus on histopathological analysis of the central nervous system. We apply advanced histological approaches to investigate neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative processes across a broad range of neurological conditions.

Currently, a major focus of our work lies in multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic immune-mediated disease characterized by inflammatory demyelination and neurodegeneration. While effective therapies exist for the early inflammatory phase, the progressive stage of the disease remains a major therapeutic challenge and is a central topic of our research.

Our expertise in histopathology provides a versatile platform that can be applied to a wide spectrum of neuropathological questions beyond MS. We continuously develop and expand our research activities and welcome new collaborations and interdisciplinary exchange.
